The first Sharon’s Place public event was a big success. We were part of the No Limits Livestock Experience at the Van Zandt County Fair, and helped scores of adults and kids with special needs have a good time.

At our booth, visitors could ride a “horse” dressed in cowboy hats, chaps, and other costumes and have their photo taken as a wild west desperado in a “Wanted” poster. It was a hectic but satisfying scene, as we moved a whole lot of our special visitors through in a short time.

It was all part of a broader No Limits Livestock Experience day that exposed adults and kids to the various livestock at the fair, a variety of fun stops along the way, a group lunch, and carnival rides. We were honored to be a part of it and add to the fun.

For Sharon’s Place, it was also an opportunity to become more visible and help people become aware of our startup activities and our long-term mission. Next up is our summer art and recreation classes.
